Snow day

I'm so mad--I had a bunch of pictures on my camera that should've been added last month but they were in a weird folder on the SD card. I could not get those pictures into another folder! Nothing worked. So I sent it to the desktop, thinking that would solve my problem and then deleted them from the camera. Well now they're all gone. There were some cute Valetine pictures of the girls, too! Argh. Moving on... Today is a snow day, although it's now turned to rain and slush. We have not gone outside...I have no desire to go outside :) So we made some snowmen inside! They've been in underwear or dress-up clothes all day--such is the nature of a snow day! Cate did not want to take a picture with her snowman, but Lizzie did. we went to NJ during the last week of February. Julia was competing with the MMS Falcons in the Island Tournament and Joe was performing in "The 25th Annual utnam County Spelling Bee" at Wildwood Catholic. (We had to come back home to MD right away because Chris was scheduled to give a talk on the 24th.) Before the day's festivities, we headed over to Clary's for some breakfast. It never disappoints! Sitting in the bleachers at the Crest Pier always brings back memories. From Crest Pier dances to Island Tournaments I participated in, the Crest Pier will never age ;) And best of all, Margaret Mace won the Skills Competition. Go Falcons! We then headed straight over to WC for the play. "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" was interactive with the audience. It was SO funny! We thoroughly enjoyed it, and the girls loved seeing their Uncle Joe onstage. We've been doing our normal routine, going to the mall and playgroups: Dickey's BBQ pit opened just around the corner from us, in the Clopper Mill shopping center. We went there when we lived in Texas and we liked it this time around in Maryland. One afternoon when Cate had fallen asleep in the car on our way home from running errands, I asked Lizzie what she wanted to do. "Let's go shopping, Mom!" (She is truly my daughter.) We stopped by Bed, Bath and Beyond. Lizzie wanted me to take a picture of her by her favorite bed on display :) She said it reminds her of newspaper!

Disney on Ice!

Chris got tickets to see Disney on Ice at the Verizon Center in DC on Valentine's Day. (Thank you, Lockheed Martin!) They set us up in a suite, which had its own kitchen and bathroom. We had a great view from our plush seats. There were only three families in the suite: us Killion's, the Clark's, and another family. The girls are still talking about how much they loved it. We saw snippets of The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Snow White, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, (didn't get any pictures) and a big finale of all the princesses and their princes. Donald, Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie narrated the show. It was a terrific experience! Here are some other pictures from our week:

Bring on February!

What a fun week we've had! The Disney Store visited us this week. Lizzie got the peas in a pod from Toy Story 3 and Cate picked Pascal from Tangled. They love them!
Since the beginning of the year, Cate has been waking up once or twice during the night and coming to our room to climb into our bed. At first, I was very good about bringing her back to her bed but then I got lazy ;) So, to get Cate to stay in her bed, we made a sticker chart. (Lizzie wanted to be a part of it too, even though she has no trouble staying in her bed.) We decided if the girls filled their chart for two weeks in a row, they would get a surprise...Chris suggested a trip to Chuck E. Cheese. You better believe the girls were adamant about fulfilling this goal. And they did! We drove up to Frederick last Saturday for the morning of fun. Cate proudly held onto her little cup of tokens the entire time we were there. It was so cute!
Next basketball player in the making...
Check out this ride: the JETT Rider. We thought it was pretty cool!
Nice photobomb, Dad ;)
This week, through work, Chris got tickets to see Disney on Ice at the Verizon Center, on Valentine's Day! So Chris will be taking his girls on a fun date. This was the girls' reaction when I told them the next morning--They are beyond excited.
Twice this week we had our friend Mia over our house. We had so much fun! On Friday we made valentines and played with lalaloopsies.
Today we went downtown to the National Postal Museum. They were holding a Valentine's Day card workshop, free of charge.
Guess who fell asleep on our way down? ;)
Lizzie had a great time making valentines for her friends. Hey, I did too!
Cate the Patriot did wake up when we were checking out the gift shop.
On such a clear and sunny day, Union Station was beautiful.
Hope you've had a great week!
